Literature review

Earlier studies on the sonnets have been conducted on the art of language applied, and more researcher got further improved in text analysis. Some of them focus on the theme of love, such as Katherine Duncan-Jonesrsquo; Shakespearean sonnet (1997), and research on the sequence, like “ The Sonnets, Songsamp; poems of Shakespeare” by Oscar James Campbell. Some of studies focus on the certain individual sonnets for other content, time, art, the image, etc.

Katherine Duncan-Jones discuses the theme of love in 3sections : The Fair Youth Poems (sonnet1-116); The Dark Lady poem and Envoi

Katherine has given very detailed description of the development of the Shakespearersquo;s love for the fair youth or the dark lady. Sonnet 18-26: written ambassage

Sonnet 27- 132: poem for the dark lady, praising her dark skin
